Starfield is developer Bethesda’s first new IP in over 25 years. Bethesda has left no stone unturned to make Starfield a game of galactic proportions set in space.
Starfield fans have been tasked with purchasing the title for around USD 90 or getting the game via Xbox Game Pass. Most of them are settling for the Xbox Game Pass option with a switch to a physical edition when the DLC for Starfield drops along with a reduction in price around Christmas.
Xbox game pass is a subscription-based system that costs USD 17 per month. Many fans claim this to be a better alternative than purchasing the title for USD 90.
This is because many other titles are included with the Xbox Game Pass. This includes the likes of FIFA 23, Forza Horizon 5, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and many more titles by EA.
This is why “renting” Starfield for the first few months seems like a good idea. Most players suggest playing the game on Xbox Game Pass for the first few months until the price drops.
Expecting a price drop for Starfield is understandable because it is improbable that the game will continue to retail for more than USD 90 forever. Fans expect a price drop around Christmas or Black Friday sales.
However, the Xbox Game Pass way has one downside. Starfield will not be a small title that can be finished over the weekend. It will have at least 1000 planets that the player can explore.
Understandably, not all the planets will be a part of the main storyline. However, the players can explore them at their liberty. This is why it is being suggested that for the first couple of playthroughs, Xbox Game Pass is ideal.
It is suggested that the first couple of playthroughs are un-modded so that when the physical copy with the DLC drops, plenty of mods will be already available at the player’s disposal for an almost brand-new experience in Starfield.
Fans are preparing for a grand launch, fast approaching the launch date. Meanwhile, Starfield’s launch is a death knell for other studios as they are moving dates to not clash with Starfield. It will be interesting to see the response when players touch this title.
