Assassin’s Creed Mirage can be completed in less time than previous titles

When the RPG-based titles of Assassin’s Creed came out, Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, fans voiced their discontent over the lengthy gameplay and the considerable map size.

While it’s understandable for an RPG title, they felt Assassin’s Creed had strayed far from its roots. Ubisoft promised to make amends. As a result, the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, set in Baghdad, has a map size comparable to AC: Revelations and AC: Unity.

Now, the lead producer at Ubisoft for Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, Fabian Salomon, in an interview with French Youtuber Julein Chieze, has revealed that the title’s gameplay time will be around 20-23 hours. This can go up to 25-30 hours for a completionist run.

This brings Assassin’s Creed: Mirage to par with the older Assassin’s Creed titles, which had less than 40 hours of playtime. This is a measly amount compared to the hefty 100 hours required to beat Odyssey or Valhalla.

Ubisoft is delivering on its promises. In their video titled “A Return to the Roots,” the team behind AC: Mirage talks about the various aspects of the game being revamped.

This includes emphasis on stealth, planning, and parkour, as seen in the older Ezio titles, i.e., the trilogy of AC: II, Brotherhood, and Revelations. Baghdad has been designed with “verticality” in mind, as requested by most players.

Social stealth makes its comeback in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Bench assassinations have also been reintroduced. Fractions can also be bribed to make their way through guarded areas in AC: Mirage.

Basim, the protagonist, is thus deliberately designed to be a parkour and stealth expert instead of a warrior, as with most RPG titles.

The fanbase is excited about Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. The title is expected to perform well when it launches on October 12th. Those with Ubisoft Connect will get access to it from day one.

About Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth primary installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While its historical timeframe precedes that of Valhalla, its modern-day framing story succeeds Valhalla’s own.

Set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age—in particular during the Anarchy at Samarra—the story follows Basim Ibn Ishaq (a character first introduced in Valhalla), a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones to fight for peace and liberty against the Order of the Ancients,[b] who desire peace through control. The main narrative focuses on Basim’s internal struggle between his duties as a Hidden One and his desire to uncover his mysterious past.
