Rockstar Games is likely to have a remake failure yet again. After the massively disappointing Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Remake, they looked to make amends, which they have by handling the remake in-house.
According to an insider on Reddit going by u/johnmarstonyc, Red Dead Redemption Remake will release in Spring 2024. However, it will not include multiplayer but the Undead Nightmare DLC.
The lack of an online Red Dead Redemption 1 remake has disappointed many fans. This is because the OG RDR1 had the most robust multiplayer experience. Some fans went to the length of describing it to be better than the current RDR2 online experience.
However, some fans understood the reason behind the online exclusion in the remake. This is because Rockstar Games is already managing Red Dead Online.
Remaking an entire series of multiplayer modes in addition to the extensive single-player campaign would be a significant undertaking, especially considering the studio’s other hotly anticipated work-in-progress, i.e., Grand Theft Auto VI.
The positive news is that the most loved and well-made expansion ever – the Undead Nightmare DLC will be included in the remake. Fans and critics loved this DLC, which included a thrilling zombie apocalypse storyline to the Red Dead Redemption Universe.
Under the same post on Reddit, many fans have flocked to prove that the screenshots provided by u/johnmarstonyc are actually from Red Dead Redemption 2. And they are right.
The screenshots provided in the post are from the Red Dead Redemption 2 Engine. Hence, the credibility of the screenshots is somewhat dubious.
However, the suggestion of the lack of online in Red Dead Redemption 1 Remake is a more logical conclusion. As always, this is a rumor that might not be true. Until the release of Red Dead Redemption 1 Remake, players can explore the Wild West as Arthur in RDR2.
