Baldur’s Gate 3 Developers are considering a DLC amidst new updates

Baldur’s Gate 3 drew inspiration from Dungeons and Dragons to give the players complete freedom from building the character to interacting with the world.

Developers Larian Studios have received an overwhelmingly positive response from Baldur’s Gate 3’s release. The title ranks amongst the top 10 games of all time, besides being the best-rated game of 2023 on Metacritic.

Senior Product Manager at Larian Studios, Tom Butler, revealed to IGN that a team of developers is discussing the possibility of a DLC. This comes after the brand-new update for PCs that fix thousands of bugs.

Tom Butler stated that the developers are “seriously considering” the possibility of a DLC. This would make sense, given the revenue that Baldur’s Gate 3 generates for the developing studios.

For a game of this measure, glitches and minor bugs are expected. There were issues like floating items like mugs and newspapers in-game and NPCs spotting the player when they should not be able to.

Another big bug was the conclusion of the Shadowheart romance scene, which was not triggering for some players. The update also fixes visual bugs and takes the game closer to perfection by ironing out minor issues.

Fans are happy with Larian Studios’ attention to detail. They are already working on a second patch that will “bring significant performance improvements.”

The update changes loot and trade and also brings changes to the credits roll. They have also fixed the issue wherein loading a save with DLC not installed would remove all DLC rewards.

Cinematic scenes have also been changed, along with visual updates, including modesty filters that are now working again for the Dragonborn, thanks to the new update.

With such prompt action on the part of the developers, the fans are relieved that such a vast game will not be neglected but regularly maintained via updates and patches.
