Intel will release Core i9-14900K as part of K/KF series on October 17th

Earlier this month, leaks confirmed significant improvements for the Core i9-14900K over the previous generation i.e., the 13900K. The i9-14900K features 8+16 Performance+ Efficiency cores that boost its performance significantly.

According to reputed hardware outlet Videocardz’s sources, Intel plans to launch six models from the new K and KF series on October 17th, 6 a.m. PST. This announcement will include the Core i9-14900K and the Core i7-14700.

According to the source, Intel has imposed a new ad embargo on the said models, which will lift on October 17th. This is a day ahead of when the sales and reviews embargo lifts.

As per earlier rumors, Intel will announce the CPUs in a little over a week at the Intel Innovation Event, which will be held on September 19 and 20.

This is typical of Intel, who usually announce the products a month before their release. The ad embargo also means we can expect retail partners’ preorders on October 16th.

The model of interest for most is the Core i9-14900K, based on the Raptor Lake Refresh architecture. A Cinebench benchmark was leaked by Chinese hardware outlet Chiphell, which stated that the Intel i9-14900K yields a multi-core score of 2161 points and a single-core performance of 128 points.

The Core i9-14900K will have 24 cores in an 8+16 Performance+ Efficiency package. The Core i7-14700K will have 20 Cores in a similar 8+12 configuration, and the Core i5-14600K will have 14 cores in the design of 6+8 P+E cores.

There is also a possibility that Intel will also be unveiling their mobile Core 100 Ultra lineup, which has been codenamed “Meteor Lake.” Some mobile versions of the Raptor Lake Refresh are also expected to be announced at the Intel Innovation event.

Arc GPUs, which took the gaming community by storm because of their unbelievable performance-to-price ratio, are also expected to get an upgrade at the event. After being teased for nearly a year, the rumored ACM-G12 GPU and the Arc 580 are finally scheduled to be released.

These exciting new products from Intel are bound to excite fans, along with the great offers and gaming bundles that Intel is providing. If all goes well, Intel can compete on the processor front with AMD and on the GPU front with both Nvidia and AMD.
