Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was revealed at the PlayStation Showcase event earlier this year. After many new changes were spotted, fans were excited at the prospect of playing the revamped Spider-Man title.
At the PlayStation State of Play event, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s new gameplay and map was revealed. The new map features two New York boroughs, Queens and Brooklyn. This results in a 50-60% increase in map area from the original Marvel’s Spider-Man.
The developers have given the players even more control now. They can choose which Spider-Man to play as. This means that players have the choice of selecting between Miles and Peter.
However, some missions will require one particular Spider-Man. However, while exploring, they are free to switch. The switching animations have been made to be seamless.
This feature leverages the true power of the PS5, ensuring that players do not face any downtime while switching characters. The new fast-travel animations are even more beautiful.
Another essential inclusion is the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app for Peter, as seen in Marvel’s Miles Morales.
Brian Itihar, Senior Creative Director at Insomniac Games, also revealed that there will be 65 suits at launch. Players can customize it to their heart’s content to get up to 200 looks.
Fans also say that Mysterio will likely be included in the title. Kraven the Hunter was confirmed at the gameplay reveal event itself. For a good reason, Insomniac has made the side-quests even more immersive, where we saw a glimpse of Venom creating a rampage in the streets of Brooklyn.
This new video was just the tip of the iceberg. The new traversal system, including the improved mechanics of web-wings, will ensure that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is an unparalleled gameplay experience.
