Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III brings back fast mantling and old maps

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has been slated for release on November 10th. The developers have revealed that MWIII will include all the older multiplayer maps and popular weapons.

In a new video titled “Multiplayer Maps’ Intel Drop,” the developers of Sledgehammer games have revealed that they have reduced the time required to mantle onto structures in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Players can chain-mantle with much more fluency now.

Mantling was a significant concern for players who played Modern Warfare II. In MWII, players got stuck in long animations while mantling onto structures. This resulted in them getting killed as they could not fire back at the enemy combatants.

The number of deaths caused by the slow mantling issue was growing. The developers listened to the feedback shared by the players.

The video noted that the mantling speeds have improved exponentially, with the weapon available for shooting foes almost instantaneously. However, there was a marked delay when grabbing onto higher areas.

The fanbase had a mixed reaction to this video that was released. While the skeptical half pointed out that the jumps seemed floaty. The optimistic half noted that the overall movement seemed to lack gravity and that slide-cancel and reload-cancel were making a comeback.

The players take this as a sign of Call of Duty returning to its roots. The developers promise that the classic maps will be rejuvenated with new assets. It has been described as a marriage of traditional gameplay with modern aids.

This is a great time to be a gamer, with big studios like Activision and Ubisoft listening to fans and bringing back fan-favorite features in their titles. November 10th cannot come any sooner for CoD fans.
