Counter-Strike 2 seems to be missing popular maps and gameplay modes

Valve has finally released the much-awaited Counter-Strike 2 which is an upgrade of the legendary title with an outstanding history. The new game has better graphics, improved gameplay, and some new exciting features. While the response had been good initially, it looks like fans are unhappy with the action sequel.

Fans resorted to review-bombing Counter-Strike 2 on Steam due to the lack of content available in the newly-launched game. It is missing popular maps, gameplay modes, and much more which has led to a collective disappointment in the community.

Counter-Strike 2 does not include Danger Zone, War Games, unranked matchmaking, short competitive games, several maps, and more. While the new game does look much better, it has a big gaping hole left behind due to the lack of content.

Moreover, Counter-Strike 2 is filled with cheaters and hackers who make the overall experience infuriating. Players have also reported encountering bugs and glitches amidst their matches. All in all, Counter-Strike 2 is very much far away from a perfect follow-up to the classic Counter-Strike or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has also been delisted from Steam which means that fans are now stuck with the faulty Counter-Strike 2 for the time being. There has been no comment on when the former title will be available to play again.

Since Counter-Strike 2 technically replaced CS:GO, it also caused the removal of the achievements in the latter. Players were justifiably upset over this since many had worked hard to collect these achievements over time.

While there is obvious room for improvement, developers hope to thin out the cheaters using the new VAC Live anti-cheat system. However, it will be interesting to see how effective this method will actually be. It is said to be a strict system where action is promptly taken against the guilty party.

Regardless of the persisting problems, Counter-Strike 2 remains a favorable game to play within the community. With the right changes, it has potential to even live up to the original Counter-Strike. Hopefully, the developers introduce new content soon enough in future updates.

Counter-Strike 2 is currently free-to-play on Steam.

About Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike 2 is a free-to-play, upcoming first-person shooter game developed and published by Valve Corporation. The game is the successor to the widely popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO), which was initially released as a premium game but later transitioned to a free-to-play model.

Valve has stated that Counter-Strike 2 will feature a range of new and improved features, including upgraded visual effects, improved lighting, and reduced input lag.

Additionally, players will be able to bring their entire inventory of items from CSGO to the new game. The new lighting effects, thanks to the new Source 2 engine, will be available to the older gears.

Counter-Strike 2 was released on September 27th, 2023.
