Assassin’s Creed Mirage side quest shows Basim’s future apprentice

Ubisoft Bordeaux has done colossal work on Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. Fans are lauding the developers for bringing the Assassin’s Creed franchise back to its stealthy roots.

In Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s minor side-quest known as Tales Of Baghdad, eagle-eyed fans have spotted that the boy in the quest titled “The Leap of the Faithful” is Hytham. An older Hytham appeared earlier in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla with Basim.

As a part of AC: Mirage’s immersive gameplay, players can complete side quests known as Tales of Baghdad, which allows the player to build the stories of those living within the walled city of 9th-century Baghdad.

Players can access the Leap of the Faith side quest while exploring the Karkh district. A group of boys will cheer on a kid perched atop a synchronization point. They ask him to either jump or get back down.

The player can climb up the tower and talk to the kid, who explains that he wants to join the Hidden Ones. But to do so, he must take the leap of faith first.

When the player shows him how to do the leap of faith, the kid follows. While his leap of faith was not the most graceful, the kid comes out unscathed.

After he reunites with his friends, players can overhear a conversation saying his name is Hytham. This is particularly interesting if the player has played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

It must be kept in mind that chronologically, Valhalla happens after incidents of Mirage. In Valhalla, players experience Basim and an older Hytham who will join the Raven Clan to settle in England.

Basim and Hytham work alongside the Ravens to expand their English presence while Hytham also learns more about Hidden Ones’ Past. Hytham becomes a vital part of the Hidden Ones’ future.

This means that Basim was a turning point in Hytham’s journey and helped him get inducted into the order of the Hidden Ones. Hytham often accompanied Basim on his journeys as the Hidden Ones were suspicious of Basim’s intentions.

This little detail will go a long way to improve the cohesion between different titles and the series. It will also allow Ubisoft to probably do more of Hytham in the future after riding out the success of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
