AMD’s upcoming AM4 socket-based processors leaked by Persian outlet

Summary

  • Persian Media outlet has leaked AMD’s upcoming desktop processors based on the previous gen AM4 socket.
  • The Ryzen 7 5700X3D, Ryzen 5 5600X3D, Ryzen 7 5700, and new Ryzen 5 5×00 GT series have been mentioned.
  • These processors will launch in the last quarter of 2023-24 in early January and will hit shelves in early February.

It does not take tech companies much time to move on to the latest technology that they have developed. However, in an exciting turn of events, it seems that AMD’s AM4 socket products might live on after all.

According to Persian Tech outlet Sakhtafzarmag, AMD’s AM4 CPU products could have four new offerings, namely the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, Ryzen 5 5600X3D, Ryzen 5 5600GT, Ryzen 5 5500GT and Ryzen 7 5700.

The Ryzen 7 5700X3D, based on the AM4 platform, will be a direct competitor to the latest generation Core i5 14600K and the previous gen Core i5 13600K. With eight cores and 16 threads, the clock speeds will be slightly lower than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

The Ryzen 7 5700X3D will have a base clock 3.0GHz that can be boosted up to 4.1GHz. It will feature a mammoth L3 cache of 96MB, and the TDP remains the same as the 5800X3D at 105W.

The clock speeds, unsurprisingly, will be less than the non-X3D variants of the same card as the first generation of chips with the 3D V-cache had restricted power because of thermal concerns.

Thus, the 5700X3D is about 400MHz clocked down from the 5800X3D. The new SKUs will also mean that the AM4 sockets stay around for a little longer.

This will allow AMD some more time to perfect its AM5 products. Another exciting product mentioned was the Ryzen 5 5600GT and 5500GT. This terminology is new, and these chips are expected to have a faster clock speed than the base chips that came out earlier.

The last of the four, the Ryzen 7 5700, will have eight cores based on the Zen 3 architecture. It is speculated that all these chips will be released alongside the Ryzen 8000G AM5 lineup in January, ensuring fans can choose between the two generations which will deliver performance for another year or so.
