The festive season comes bearing great news and gifts for all walks of life, especially for gamers. Ubisoft has announced a much-awaited update on Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s post-launch roadmap.

Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will get a New Game Plus Mode with a bonus Bayek’s Medjay Outfit from AC: Origins with three unique dye options. Back and side ejects have increased range, along with bugs, audio, compatibility, and stability fixes.

The developers have also included the download size for the free update on December 12th for all consoles. The PC has the largest update size at 5.03 GB.

This is followed by the Xbox Series X|S at 4.76 GB. The Xbox One will get an update amounting to 3.33GB, and the PlayStation 4 will get a 3.05GB update.

The PlayStation 5 gets the most minor update at just 2.03GB. Ubisoft has mentioned that the New Game Plus mode will be accessible after completing the game on any difficulty.

The new game will keep all the skills, gear, and costumes collected from the first playthrough. To make it easier to jump in and relive 9th-century Baghdad, the developers put a New Game Plus playthrough tile on the title screen and the pause menu.

Players can also skip the prologue and start directly in Baghdad. This will be a major point for many players who complained that the initial portion of the game was stretched out.

There are also several bug fixes related to the gameplay and improvements to Basim’s broken and overpowered Chain Assassination.

Graphics and animations have also been improved. Audio now continues to play when reading the codex details.

There are also several quests whose gameplay has been fixed. The update 1.0.6 promises to bring replayability into a title marred by decreasing player count – a case of hit and run, i.e., once the player completes the title, they do not replay it.

While it does not cause the developers any financial loss, it dramatically impacts player engagement. As a result, the New Game Plus mode will bring replayability and keep players engaged, along with the promised Permadeath mode coming later.
