Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III crossing over with Mortal Kombat as per leaks

Summary

  • A reputed CoD leaker has spotted a graphic of Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
  • The leak contains an image of Scorpion surrounded by flames and a text that says “Fist O’ Fire.”
  • This could hint at a probable CoD: Modern Warfare III x Mortal Kombat crossover that might be announced soon.

The season of Crossovers is onto us. With the recent crossovers of Apex Legends with Final Fantasy VII and Dead by Daylight with Rainbow Six Siege, fans of the Call of Duty franchise might also have something to cheer about.

The recent rumor arose from a Tweet from reputed Call of Duty Leaker @ForwardLeaks on Twitter. Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion character is seen surrounded by flames, along with a text saying, “Fist O’ Fire.” This could suggest an imminent crossover of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III with Mortal Kombat.

While it remains unclear what the unique character and the text might depict, a few theories are doing rounds on the Call of Duty fan forums.

One prevalent theory is that this could be a medal, quite similar to what players receive when they achieve a feat like “multi-kill” in CoD: Modern Warfare III.

It is also possible that the text and icon could hint at the unique ability, i.e., a perk arriving at CoD: Modern Warfare III, as a part of a limited-time event.

This special ability theory will remind players of Season 1 of Modern Warfare III. In Season 1, the mode Supe’d Up saw Homelander from the Series “The Boys” as the face of the advertisement.

While the exact details are unknown, it can be expected that players from both teams in CoD: Modern Warfare III will equip skins and get perks related to the powers of the Supes.

Given that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has a mature rating, it will surely be able to accommodate some gore finishers to replicate Fatalities from Mortal Kombat to ensure a fresh way to kill enemies.

It will be interesting to see if Mortal Kombat makes its way into CoD: MW III and in what form. We have to wait for a while until Sledgehammer and Activision make an announcement.
