Tropical Game Tchia Launch Pushed to 2023, Makers to Brush up the Game

In true indie spirit, the tropical game Tchia could not stick to the set schedule despite best tries.

The adventure game was set to release in the spring of ’22 when Awaceb, the creator studio, announced an unavoidable hold-up.

The developers feel that the game holds a lot more potential, and hence, to properly shape it, they would need a couple more months.

The Playstation Console Exclusive game, Tchia,  will now be released in early 2023.

Game director Phil Crifo took to Twitter to share the news on behalf of the entire Awaceb Team. He further explained,

After 3 years of passion and hard work, we owe it to ourselves and everyone who has been supportive to deliver the best game we possibly can.

To that end, we have decided to move our release window to early 2023. This extra time will allow us to really polish every aspect of the game and flesh out all the little details that we know will make Tchia a really special experience.

Anticipating players showed mixed responses to the news. While some expressed their disappointment, others lauded the studio for creating an opportunity to fine-tune the game.

The initial release date was announced in September 2021 at the Playstation Showcase, along with the gameplay trailer.

The trailer revealed an open world setting with activities and challenges following a storyline. The game environment is inspired by Awaceb’s homeland, New Caledonia, a group of islands in the Pacific waters. Tchia will be available on platforms PS4 and PS5 exclusively.
