Playstation’s Exclusive Event State of Play Scheduled for 2nd June

Sony’s State of Play is always a spectacle to watch. The semi-regular digital broadcast showcases upcoming releases, new announcements, and updates.

The last edition focused on Hogwarts Legacy, the Harry Potter fantasy RPG. It featured a 20-min live stream of the game’s overview.

After about two months, PlayStation announced the next State of Play broadcast, scheduled for June 2nd at 3 PM PT or June 3rd at 3:30 AM IST.

The official announcement post explained a launch consisting of about 30 minutes of exciting news. There will be new game trailers, title launches, release dates, etc. The event will take place on the streaming platform Twitch.

“We’ll have some exciting reveals from our third-party partners, plus a sneak peek at several games in development for PlayStation VR2.”

One important note is the PlayStation VR2, featured earlier this year.

PlayStation VR2

The First Look only revealed little about the next-gen system. Other than the hardware design and some selected features like Visual Fidelity and Sensory Features, we don’t really know much.

The upcoming broadcast will most likely announce new games for the PS VR2 platform and a tentative release date and pricing.

Over 20 first-party and third-party games will be available for the virtual reality ecosystem.

Some of the confirmed titles for the library are Horizon: Call of the Mountain, Samurai Slaughter House, Low-Fi, Runner, Firmament and Among Us

Playstation will also welcome third-party developers as a collaboration initiative with Sony.

Whatever the specifics, the event will be worth watching; the previous streams are precedents. The rest of the year looks busy for Sony. The State of Play broadcast will reveal a lot of their game plan. As for us, we might finally have a release date for the God of War: Ragnarok!
