Alleged RTX 4090 PCB Diagram Features NV Link, 16-Pin Connector & More

NVIDIA’s RTX 40 series is the talk of the town with its next-gen features designed for powerful gaming, with high scale imaging. The series will debut quite a few new designs like the 16-pin connector.

The official specs about NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 series are next to nothing, while several rumors have surfaced regarding hardware designs, pricing range, etc.

The German blog Igor’s Lab has released a picture of the next-gen NVIDIA RTX 4090 series PCB design.

The picture of the AD102 PCB could not be revealed, but the writer compared the earlier AD 102 predictions with the leaked PCB diagram.

Readers should keep in mind that there are two NVIDIA PCB board numbers for the upcoming next-gen GPUs, i.e.,

  • PG139: V-shaped, similar to the particular RTX 30 Founders Edition variant; it will be used for limited edition models.
  • PG136: Rectangular design (referenced above); it will be used for cheaper models like the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 Ti

The new board would feature

  • Four display connectors
  • 3 Display Ports(Not sure if it is DP 2.0)
  • 1 HDMI
  • One 16-pin power connector
  • NV-Link

It was expected that NVIDIA would repurpose the ‘Ampere’ series PCB and cooling system for the RTX 40 series.

Previous leaks about the models RTX 4090 Ti and RTX 4080 SKUs suggest we can assume the PCB will be similar to the RTX 3090 Ti.

The information suggests the model in question is the RTX 4090 GPU because it is the only class with NV-Link multi-GPU connectors from the RTX 30 lineup.

The power consumption for the RTX 40 series is unknown, but most likely, the high-end variants like the RTX 4090 Ti will draw about 600W. This is a safe bet given the 16-pin connector debuting in the series.

Schedule Nvidia RTX 4090

The AD102 release dates will further confirm software and firmware findings pretty soon. The RTX 40 series is expected to begin manufacturing in August, lining up with the rumored launch date– Fall 2022.
