Intel Arc A730M Tests Gaming Performance Over RTX 30 Series GPUs

Weibo user @Golden Pig Upgrade published a score of 10107 using Intel’s Arc A730M in the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark. The Arc Alchemist mobile GPU proved faster than some RTX 3070Ti models.

However, the test was rendered invalid as Intel optimizes its GPUs for such softwares.

The user again tested the A730M GPU in several demanding games at two resolutions, which revealed a lot about its gaming capabilities.

Here’s how the GPU performed:

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Average Framerate at 1080p

The average framerate at 1080p was 38 FPS.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Average Framerate at 1440p

The average framerate at 1440p was 32 FPS.

Metro Exodus Average Framerate at 1080p

Metro Exodus Average Framerate at 1080p

The average framerate at 1080p was 70 FPS.

Metro Exodus Average Framerate at 1440p

The average framerate at 1440p was 55 FPS.

F1 2020

F1 2020 Average Framerate at 1080p

The average framerate at 1080p was 123 FPS.

F1 2020 Average Framerate at 1440p

The average framerate at 1440p was 95 FPS.

This performance standard is similar to NVIDIA’s entry-level RTX 30 series GPUs. For example, the RTX 3050 has an average frame rate of 120 FPS for F1 2020 at 1080p compared to A730 M’s 123 FPS. However, the RTX 3060 performed better with Metro Exodus with an average frame rate of 80 FPS at 1080p.

While the Arc A730M stands strong in synthetic tests, it isn’t very impressive in terms of gaming capabilities and real-world use. The unoptimized performance might lead to an underwhelming market response.

The Intel Arc range will launch around the fall of 2022.
