3-Slot Cooler for NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 & 4090 Ti Founders Edition BFGPUs

NVIDIA has been careful not to spill any essential details ahead of launch, but fans are relentless in finding out whatever they can. Recently, we came across the specs for the GeForce RTX 4090, and it truly is a solid, power-intensive GPU. 

The RTX 4090 features 16384 cores with 24 GB of GDDR6X memory support clocking at 21 Gbps. Moreover, the RTX TITAN/4090 Ti will utilize the AD102 GPU with 144 cores.  

Youtuber @Moore’s Law Is Dead revealed the rumored renders of RTX 4090 & 4090 Ti variants. They feature the Founders Edition coolers used in the flagship Ada architecture-based AD102 GPUs.   

While earlier leaks showed the cooler design for NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 Ti Founders Edition, the new photos cover an updated set of renders taken from different angles, using insider information.  

The RTX 4090 and 4090 Ti will be high-power GPUs, with an expected TGP of 450W-600W. The FE cooler for the graphics cards will be between 3-3.5 slots and have a large heatsink with a greater surface area.  

Twitter leaker @kopite7kimi suggested the cooler designs for the RTX 40 series will be similar to the existing RTX 30 series, with just a couple of changes. The RTX 3090 and 3090 Ti have a TGP of 350W and 450W, respectively. The design has been slightly modified for the RTX 40 GPUs so that the GPUs don’t slow down.   

The cards feature dual-flow through fan design and LED logos atop the shroud. A solid PSU rated at least 1200W and adequate room for the firmware is suggested to accommodate the heavy-duty BFGPUs.  

The RTX 40 series will be launching soon, with the flagship RTX 4090 GPU releasing first in October.
