The Harry Potter series has created a deeply intricate fantasy world of magic. Part of its appeal is Hogwarts, the school which trains young students to be skilled masters of sorcery. In Hogwarts Legacy, players will experience their sorting into one of the four houses of Hogwarts– Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff.
Hogwarts Legacy has dropped a new game trailer offering fans a deeper look into Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry.
The video explored the common rooms of the houses of Hogwarts, where students can socialize, study and spend time in. Every student enters their house’s common room through a secret entrance. These areas are essential parts of a student’s experience at Hogwarts.
The Harry Potter novels mainly focused on Gryffindor since the Golden Trio, Harry, Hermione, and Ron all belong to Gryffindor. There were brief descriptions of the Slytherin and Ravenclaw common rooms in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, respectively. The Hufflepuff common room has not been mentioned in the books.
Hogwarts Legacy offers players the freedom to explore these crucial areas of Hogwarts that Harry Potter fans will be able to live in.
Developer Avalanche Software has thoroughly designed the open-world element of the game. Every common room is rife with authentic magical detail as described in the Harry Potter books.
For the Hufflepuff common room, the team has used Pottermore as a reference to create an original and beautiful area, true to the Hufflepuff personality.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy features a vast open world for players to explore. Hogwarts itself is a massive labyrinth filled with “magic, life, and secrets.” There are surprising and minute details for players to discover throughout the game.
The trailer also announced that Harry Potter fans can link their official fan club account to Hogwarts Legacy. This relation will transfer the player’s quiz results and choices for house selection, wand, and special house-themed robes. This extends a player’s authentic entry into the magical world.
Hogwarts Legacy releases on February 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch version launching later.
