Fans Discover a Mortal Kombat 2 Poster in The Last of Us Part 1

The Last of Us Part 1 is the latest release by Naughty Dog. The remaster follows the original story of Joel and Ellie but with an overall improvement of the original game. As fans are playing the new release, a wholesome discovery has made fans marvel at the developer’s team.

The Last of Us Part 1 remake was launched recently, and fans have spotted a special Easter Egg.

A Twitter post by Naughty Dog Central revealed a poster of the 1998 game Mortal Kombat 2, on the wall behind Ellie, just under the bunk bed, in one of the scenes.

This reference to the fighting series was not included in the 2013 release, so it is interesting why it has been put in the remake. Mortal Kombat is a classic fighting franchise from the 90s so that the Easter egg could be a tribute to the iconic game from the developers’ team.

The Last of Us takes place in 2033, and Mortal Kombat 2 was released in 1993. This implies that 40 years had passed between when the latter was released and when the former was set.

The Last of Us Part 1 improves several elements from the original release, especially the visuals. With notable changes to graphics, audio, AI core, and combat sequences, one can evidently see a difference in the quality.

The 2013 release is one of the best horror games on PlayStation alongside Until Dawn, BioShock, and Dead by Daylight. While some are apprehensive of the new launch, claiming a remake was unnecessary, those playing it appreciate the hard work done by the team.

The Last Of Us Part 1 Remake is currently available for PlayStation 5.
