God of War Ragnarok is just about two months away from launch, and we cannot wait. As the release date comes closer, fans are getting glimpses of the intense gameplay. Recently, a new video showcased a brand-new level in the PlayStation exclusive game.
A new Game Informer gameplay video featured a new level in God of War Ragnarok, Svartalfheim, one of the Nine Realms of the World Tree, Yggdrasil.
The video shows Kratos and Atreus sailing into Svartalfheim with Mimir, the Norse God of Knowledge and Wisdom. Svartalfheim, otherwise known as Nidavellir, is home to the Dwarven in Norse mythology.
The realm is massive with technical wonders, vast cities sprawling acres, artificial waterways, and detailed puzzles. Players must utilize Kratos’ elemental abilities to traverse the ruins, create new routes, and solve the many puzzles in the level.
Kratos and Atreus will journey across all nine realms in Ragnarok, even though Odin had initially restricted access to the remaining realms.
Kratos equips his Leviathan axe to freeze a geyser and advance further in the gameplay video. He also uses his signature Blades of Chaos to dismantle obstructions in his pathway.
Atreus assists Kratos both in and out of combat. Kratos may instruct Atreus to interact with out-of-reach devices.
Lead level designer James Riding and level designer Jon Hickenbottom explained that the developers’ team at Santa Monica Studios had the directive to create gameplay in the level spaces of the God of War sequel with “more variety and verticality.” Hence, Svartalfheim offers the freedom and opportunity to explore in God of War Ragnarok.
Ragnarok is built from the group using assets from the original game from 2018. The developers have created lively, content-rich, otherworldly realms for the Norse saga finale.
God of War Ragnarok is one of the most anticipated titles by Sony Interactive Entertainment this year. With the grand success of the first part, Ragnarok certainly has a lot of expectations to exceed.
