Ubisoft Confirms Assassin’s Creed 1 Remake is Not in Development

Assassin’s Creed marked the beginning of the epic Assassins franchise, featuring Altair, a Syrian master Assassin. Even though it has only been 15 years, fans have repeatedly asked for a remake of the classic title. However, recent announcements by Ubisoft revealed the company has a lot on its plate for now.

Ubisoft confirmed that an Assassin’s Creed remake is not in development.

Assassin’s Creed 1

Ubisoft stated they do not feel the need to return to the original title, which introduced Altair to the Assassin’s Creed universe. The news was disappointing to a couple of fans, but Ubisoft is dedicated to kickstarting a whole new phase with the Infinity hub and the future projects planned for it.

The Infinity hub will link future Assassin’s Creed games together so fans will have more access to the series than before.

Ubisoft will return to its roots with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which has been directly compared with the franchise’s 2011 and 2014 entries, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, respectively.

There are also multiple Assassin’s Creed games being developed for mobile devices. Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade is an open-world action-adventure game set in ancient China.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity will store modern story elements so players can maneuver through historical quests and return to the modern setting as they please. Assassin’s Creed is one of the finest works by Ubisoft. Hopefully, future titles successfully capture the true essence of the franchise, offering players a remarkable experience in a unique gameplay environment.

Assassin’s Creed is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
