New Forspoken Trailer Shows Frey and Her Troubled Experiences 

This year’s Tokyo Game Show will be the first physical gig after a couple of years, so those attending will have high expectations. The schedule looks busy, packed with important streams from some of the biggest names in the field, such as Bandai Namco, Square Enix, and Capcom.  

Square Enix and Luminous Productions released a new trailer for Forspoken at the Tokyo Game Show event, offering a fresh look at the open-world fantasy adventure game. 

Forspoken follows the journey of Frey, a young woman who lived a simple life in New York before her life took a turn. She is transported to the beautiful and cruel land of Athia and tasked with saving it from its corruption, using her newly found magical abilities. 

The two-minute-long video is based on this narrative. Fans got a detailed look at some of the dragons in the game. Although their purpose is not yet evident, some guessed Frey might use them to fly around Athia.  

Frey is accused of being the source of darkness in Athia by the natives. She is also treated as an outcast, as multiple scenes with different leaders and NPCs depict her having a hard time finding allies.  

Frey faces the authoritative figures of Athia in several instances, and the trailer shows how their relationship develops throughout the story. 

One key detail is the magical Cuff on Frey’s hand, which might be useful as the game progresses. It seems the only way to prove her innocence is by stopping the curse. 

Players are intrigued to solve the mysteries in Athia and unravel the actual source of corruption. Hopefully, there will be no delays in the scheduled timeline.  

Forspoken releases on January 24, 2023, for PC and PlayStation 5.

It follows Frey’s troubled journey in the magical land of Athia, where she battles against evil. Frey was an average New Yorker before she was mysteriously transported to Athia, where people, places, and cultures are foreign to her.

Frey must use her newfound magical abilities to combat monsters, save the Athians, and find her way back home.
