Rockstar Games Turns Off Replies on Twitter After Facing Massive Leak

Rockstar Games was victim to a massive leak after several gameplay videos of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 were uploaded on YouTube by a hacker named “Tea Pot.”

Rockstar Games unexpectedly turned off replies on social media after announcing two new cars and other events for GTA Online.

The hacker leaked early gameplay footage and original source codes for GTA V and VI. The latter was also listed for sale for almost $100K. Rockstar Games quickly took down the videos on copyright grounds, confirming the leaks were genuine.

This change comes after Rockstar Games released their official statement addressing the leak. The company mentions they suffered a third-party intrusion. They also assured that the development of Grand Theft Auto 6 would remain unaffected.

The response to this tweet was overwhelmingly positive, with fans expressing their heartfelt sympathy for the entire GTA 6 team. So, it is unclear why Rockstar Games would resort to blocking replies.

Some harsh critics felt the early gameplay could have been better, but this is nothing unusual for a leaked snippet of a game still in development.
