NVIDIA recently canceled the launch of the RTX 4080 12 GB variant, claiming the product is “not named right.” The company did not specify future plans or when the product would be eventually launched. Sadly, there’s more disheartening news to come.
Twitter user @kopite7kimi revealed that there won’t be a Titan variant of NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace-based GPUs releasing anytime soon.
Earlier leaks reported a new GPU model featuring up to 24 GB of GDDR6X memory, which would have become the fastest gaming Ada GPU from NVIDIA. This GPU might be launched in the future with slightly different memory specs than RTX 4090 Ti.
There goes our dream of getting a graphics card with 48 GB memory. However, the best we can get is a nearly identical GPU but with a lower frame buffer. Thankfully, the seriously demanding 800W TGP is no longer a concern.
Reportedly, the RTX 4090 Ti would feature AD104-450 GPU and 18176 CUDA cores, which is 11% more than the RTX 4090. The RTX 4090 is 60% faster than the RTX 3090 Ti variant and 77.5% more than RTX 3090. This just goes on to show how well-designed the Ada GPU is.
Hopefully, the TITAN series will eventually make a comeback since the last model was launched almost four years ago.
