Choose Your Favored Graphics Settings for God of War: Ragnarok

God of War: Ragnarok launches in less than a week. The sequel will wrap up the thrilling saga of Kratos and Sony has been careful not to spill too many details besides the basic storyline.

Santa Monica Studios has revealed the graphic modes for PlayStation 4 and 5, offering an option to prioritize performance or graphical quality.

The tweet showed a detailed breakdown of the various graphic modes which will be available to players.

For PS4 Pro, gamers can choose to go with either the performance or the graphics favoring settings. The Performance mode offers 30 FPS and more but can occasionally drop down to 1080p resolution. The Quality mode enables higher resolutions, but the frame rates can dip below 30 FPS at times.

For players having the standard PS4 console, the resolution will be limited to 1080p with a set target of 30 FPS.

For PS5, there are six different graphic modes, offering a mix of performance or graphical quality. The Performance modes will deliver the standard 60 FPS with resolutions up to 2160p. Displays with a variable refresh rate will support higher frame rates. The Quality mode offers 30 FPS at native 4K resolution. If you wish for faster frame rates, you will have to make do with a lower resolution.

It doesn’t really matter whether you’re playing on a PS4 or PS5; Santa Monica Studios has done a really promising job with the visuals of Ragnarok. The gameplay teasers showcase intricate and detailed animation; even the fight sequences show clean and swift actions. God of War: Ragnarok is expected to be one of the biggest action titles of 2022, and rightly so!
