Santa Monica Studio Posts Patch Notes of God of War: Ragnarok v. 02.01

It’s been a few days since God of War: Ragnarok was launched. Two game updates have been launched ever since, the second one exclusively for PlayStation 5 consoles. These updates mostly fixed minor in-game bugs and glitches.

Santa Monica Studio has released the v. 02.01 Patch Notes of God of War: Ragnarok for PlayStation 5.

God of War Ragnarok

Stability and Performance

  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur at the end of the first boss fight.
  • Fixed a crash that could appear randomly during gameplay.

Polish Language Support

  • Added Polish language audio support for players that purchased the game on disc in Poland.
  • Note: Please ensure that the game is fully installed from the disc or network and patched to version 2.01 before enabling the Polish language in the Speech-Language settings.
    • If the game is not fully installed there will be no audio or subtitles for the in-game dialog.
    • To correct this, please close the app and restart once the game is fully installed and the patch installation is complete.
Kratos & Atreus — God of War Ragnarok

The update is a little over 200 MB. Players had hoped it would fix the issue that prevents a difficulty change mid-game, but sadly, this still needs to be resolved. Players reported no change even after changing the difficulty level mid-game, leaving them no choice but to restart their games as a last resort.

The studio stated a subsequent patch for PlayStation 4 would be released very soon. God of War: Ragnarok has been a huge success among fans, even breaking sales records in the UK.

God of War: Ragnarok is available on PS4 and PS5.

About God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on November 9, 2022, for PS4 and PS5.

Ragnarok is the ninth installment in the God of War series, chronologically, and the sequel to 2018’s God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game is set in ancient Norway and features series protagonists Kratos and his young son Atreus. The events of the game are expected to initiate Ragnarok – a series of events that, according to Norse lore, bring about the end of days and the death of the Norse gods.
