Bandai Namco Teases Tekken 8 Appearance at The Game Awards 2022

Bandai Namco officially announced Tekken 8, a new entry in the action series, at the PlayStation State of Play event in September. The game’s first action-packed teaser sparked excitement among fans of the veteran franchise.

Bandai Namco hinted that Tekken 8 will be making an appearance at The Game Awards show.

The announcement was revealed in a new teaser video featuring the game’s logo, with the date of December 8, 2022 written underneath it. This matches that of The Game Awards show, which will feature several new announcements from major publishers.

Tekken 8’s teaser featured the infamous Mishima clan in a battle amidst a troubled storm. It showed the father-son duo, Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama, in a faceoff and using their Devil gene powers. As said in the epilogue of Tekken 7, it will focus on the rivalry between the feuding father and son.

Fans were left awestruck with the phenomenal graphics of Tekken 8 with detailed animations, dynamic weather effects, and swift action sequences running at 60 FPS.

Bandai Namco did not reveal much about Tekken 8 in the new teaser, and just directed fans to “save the date.” Theories have started brewing about what could be shown at The Game Awards; Tekken 8’s launch date could be announced, the playable roster might be unveiled, or it could just be another gameplay video featuring the Mishima family.

Tekken 8

The chief producer of Tekken, Katsuhiro Harada, claimed that Tekken 8’s release date would be only disclosed after the game had reached a certain point in development. However, the previous earnings call of Bandai Namco revealed that Tekken 8 aimed to be released in the 2023 fiscal year.

Tekken 8 looks to be highly-promising, and it comes a full console generation after Tekken 7. Hopefully, fans will be given more details on its upcoming showcase at The Game Awards.
