Overwatch 2 Hotfix Balance Patch Nerfs Sojourn & Buffs Other Heroes

Some might say that Overwatch 2 was rushed to launch when the game was clearly not quite finished. Since then, Blizzard has tried fixing whatever issues pop up. This recent news just goes on to show that the Overwatch 2 developers do indeed listen to fans’ feedback.

A hotfix balance patch of Overwatch 2 is now live which will nerf Soujourn and bring buffs to other DPS heroes.

This hero balance patch was released just a week into Season 2 after closely analyzing pertaining problems. This is a precaution against any potentially crippling meta that might be developing.

In the beginning days of Season 2, a meta was beginning to form where Sojourn, when played with Mercy, was bringing back the one-shot capability, leading her to being fixed in the meta for months.

Sojourn

Even though the Overwatch 2 team had earlier hinted at this patch, people were surprised to see some of the heroes’ names. Doomfist, Orisa, Sojourn, Ramattra, Ana, Tracer, and Kiriko were affected in the balance patch.

Here are the heroes’ patch notes:

Doomfist

  • Rocket Punch: Cooldown increased from 3 to 4 seconds
  • Power Block: Minimum damage mitigated required to empower Rocket Punch increased from 80 to 100 damage
  • The Best Defense’: Temporary health gained per target hit with abilities decreased from 40 to 35 health

  • Terra Surge: Pierces through barriers upon impact
  • Augmented Fusion Driver: Damage falloff range increased from 15 to 25 meters
