NVIDIA Changes GeForce RTX 4070 Ti’s MSRP, Making it 11% Cheaper

NVIDIA recently brought back its GeForce RTX 4080 (12 GB) graphics card under a new name, RTX 4070 Ti. The high-end GPU features the same specs as the previously canceled card, and a modified price too.

According to sources, NVIDIA recently informed board partners that the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti now costs $799, almost 11% ($100) cheaper than the RTX 4080 12GB GPU.

In China, sources like Expreview and BoardChannels stated that the RTX 4070 Ti will be priced at 6499 RMB, i.e. 700 RMB lesser than what RTX 4080 12GB was supposed to be launched for.

The updated price of the RTX 4070 Ti makes it twice as cheap as NVIDIA’s RTX 4090. However, the RTX 4070 also has half of the memory (12GB) and less than half CUDA cores (7680) as the RTX 4090(16384) which justifies its new pricing.

NVIDIA RTX 40 Series

There is no Founders Edition of the RTX 4070 Ti so only custom models will be available at MSRP. NVIDIA does encourage its board partners to include a couple of non-OC models at MSRP during the final launch. However, grabbing onto those might be difficult since they tend to sell out within moments.

With the RTX 4070 Ti’s relaunch, NVIDIA had 2 whole months to prepare for cases of supply shortage. Hopefully, there won’t be such a scenario when the Ada Lovelace-based GPU finally comes to the market.
