Japanese video game and entertainment company Konami had earlier announced multiple Silent Hill projects including Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill: Ascension, Silent Hill: Townfall, and more. However, the firm has not confirmed any game titled The Short Message.
The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee rated Silent Hill: The Short Message with the title listed for PlayStation 5.
The game is said to contain “violence, terror, and inappropriate speech” while its publisher is noted as Konami.
Uniana is a Korean firm that usually publishes Konami’s video games in Korea and manufactures arcade machines. This latest news dismisses the possibility of Uniana ever releasing a Silent Hill arcade game.
It is also puzzling as to why this title was not announced with other Silent Hill projects. However, the mystery surrounding The Short Message seems fitting for a Silent Hill title. This could all very well be the genius marketing behind Silent Hill: The Short Message.
Even though the Silent Hill franchise has been at rest for a couple of years now, it still remains a preferable series. Red Soul Games announced Post Trauma, a Silent Hill-inspired title, at The Game Awards recently. There are many more such games in the making, clearly, the Silent Hill lore still manages to spook us all.
