Destiny 2: Lightfall DLC Does not Include Featured Weapons from Promo

Bungie really hyped-up Destiny 2: Lightfall expansion in terms of quality and overall difficulty of the game. However, it looks like the DLC falls short when compared to Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Witch Queen. According to recent discoveries, there’s more disappointing news to come.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is missing a full set of previously featured gear. The weapons– the hand cannon, a sword, a light machine gun, and a rocket launcher, were seen in its pre-release marketing campaign, and also on Lightfall’s campaign mission selection screen.

Post-campaign content for Lightfall is still being rolled out. However, data miners could not find a shred of an additional gear set. Hence, the weapons in question are simply not coming to Destiny 2.

These weapons were depicted along with one of the DLC’s repurposed Shadowkeep weapons. This led many fans to believe that the two sets were supposed to coexist with each other.

Destiny 2: Lightfall

This mishap does not exactly justify the overall negative reviews for Destiny 2: Lightfall on Steam. However, it is clear that there was a sudden change of plans. Otherwise, it doesn’t make much sense for Bungie to invest resources and time into a detailed set of artwork and design for something that would not even be launched in the end.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is now the worst-rated Destiny 2 DLC on Steam. The expansion has a Mostly Negative rating of 29%. However, a missing set of weapons is not the sole reason for the downfall of the DLC.

There are a number of factors contributing to the community’s disappointments with the latest expansion. Hopefully, a missing weapon set won’t be one of them for long and a future update will fix this.

Destiny 2 players should do one small thing before the Lightfall DLC
