AMD Radeon 780M RDNA3 iGPU Scores 36757 Points in Geekbench OpenCL

OpenCL is hardly a useful gaming performance parameter one would consider amongst other graphics API. However, it serves an important value to the AMD Radeon 780M which features an integrated RDNA3 GPU.

Latest findings have revealed that the AMD Radeon 780M performance matches up to that of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. The Radeon 780M scored 36757 points in OpenCL. This puts the integrated GPU between GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q and GTX 1650 Max-Q mobile graphics.

AMD Radeon 780M OpenCL Score

Paired with the Ryzen 7 7840HS 8-core APU, the Radeon 780M iGPU has 12 CUs, similar to the last-gen Radeon 680M. Although there aren’t that many differences in the successor model, one should note the most notable detail.

The only exception is that the new updates feature the latest RDNA3 architecture and support faster clock speeds up to 2.7 GHz, which is around 300 MHz faster than Radeon 680M’s 2.4 GHz boost clocks.

Ryzen 7 7840HS with Radeon 780M

Due to the insufficient and inadequate OpenCL data, it would be unfair to compare the Radeon 780M and the Radeon 680M. The former does have a slight advantage due to better architecture and hardware.

Here’s the Geekbench OpenCL ranking:

Model Score
AMD Radeon RX 580 (Desktop)42224
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti (Desktop)41805
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti (Laptop) Max-Q40665
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (Desktop)39717
NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X (Desktop)39047
AMD Radeon 780M (iGPU)36757
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (Laptop) Max-Q35581
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti (Desktop)33842

AMD is scheduled to launch the Ryzen 7040HS APUs in a few weeks. The series will follow the Ryzen 7045HX “Dragon Range” SKUs, which were launched just a week ago.
