Intel Meteor Lake Series Core Ultra 7 1002H Configuration Revealed

Intel Core Ultra 7 1002H is not the first Meteor Lake mobile processor to be spotted. The topic of Intel Core CPU rebranding sparked debates with the naming of the Core Ultra 7 1003H. Intel has confirmed that the next mobile series will be named differently.

According to the boot log spotted by InstLatX64, the Intel Core Ultra 7 1002H has the same configuration as the 1003H– 16 cores and 22 threads. The SKU features 6 Performance Cores, 8 Efficient Cores and 2 “e” Cores in the SoC die. The latter is a new feature for the Meteor Lake series.

The small Crestmont “e” cores will significantly improve idle power consumption. The base clock of the Core Ultra 7 1002H measures up to 3.0 GHz. This is around 100 MHz lower than the 22-thread Meteor Lake engineering sample spotted at Computex with a 28W TDP. Hence, it wouldn’t be surprising if the SKU turns out to be a P-variant.

It should be noted that this Meteor Lake chip might just be an early engineering sample. Since the Core Ultra 7 1002H has the same configuration as the 1003H, we can expect the former to feature lower clocks and TDP to match.

Intel’s Meteor Lake series will clash with AMD’s Zen 4-based Phoenix APUs and Zen 5-based Strix Point APUs. However, there’s very little information available about the Meteor Lake lineup.

Intel is planning to launch the Meteor Lake CPU series in the second half of 2023. The upcoming Intel Innovation event, which is scheduled for September, will feature new updates for the 14th gen mobile and desktop CPU series.
