Baldur’s Gate 3 is just one of the many anticipated titles launching this year such as Final Fantasy 16, Mortal Kombat 1, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Street Fighter 6. Fans are beyond excited for the revival of the beloved RPG franchise since the last mainline installment was released over 20 years ago.
According to a community update on Steam, the release date of the PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been pushed to August 3rd instead of August 31st. Similarly, its PS5 version will be launched on September 6th.
Baldur’s Gate 3 director and studio founder Swen Vincke explained that these changes are a result of the busy launch calendar in 2023. Vincke hopes that by shifting the release dates, fans have ample opportunities to enjoy the game.
The much-awaited sci-fi title Starfield, which is a direct competition to Baldur’s Gate 3, is scheduled to launch in Fall. Now that the PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3 is releasing on the same day as Starfield, there might be some reason to worry.
Larian Studios has revealed some exciting new information about the upcoming title. The developers will be adding new character creation options before the final launch. Gamers can choose from every option from the original Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Player’s Handbook.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will also feature the Monk class. This specific character wields light weapons, unarmed strikes, and ki to strive in the battlefield. Dungeons and Dragons fans can make use of the Monk abilities available in the game such as Deflect Missiles and Martial Arts.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has several new features, including many which were not available in Early Access. Classes will have access to upper-tier abilities, such as 6th-level spells from Dungeons and Dragons. Players can expect to find more details during Baldur’s Gate 3’s final Panel from Hell showcase which is scheduled for July 7th.
