The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D has been mentioned by a known hardware leaker just earlier this month. As soon as people got to know about the 6-core processor, it gave rise to a serious debate about its legitimacy in AMD’s roadmaps.
AMD will be launching the 6-core Ryzen 5 5600X3D on July 7th. The processor will be exclusively available via the US retailer Microcenter meaning that the 5600X3D will not be launched anywhere else in the world.
As confirmed by Microcenter, the 5600X3D will be priced at $229. Hence, the 6-core processor will retail for way cheaper than the 8-core 5800X3D which costs $280.
Here are the official specs of the Ryzen 5 5600X3D:
Cores/Threads | 6C/12T |
Base/Boost Clock | 3.3/4.4 GHz |
Cache (L2+L3) | 99MB(3+96) |
TDP | 105W |
Launch Price (USD) | $229 |
The 6-core CPU will feature a 3.3 GHz base clock and a 4.4 GHz boost clock. To comply with voltage regulations for 3D V-Cache models, AMD has significantly lowered the frequencies of the processors. So, the base clock for the 5600X3D will be 300 MHz slower than the Ryzen 5 5600X (3.7 GHz).
There’s a total of 99MB cache available, divided into 3MB of L2 cache and 96MB of L3 cache. Meanwhile, the TDP for the Ryzen 5 5600X3D is 105W which is more than the 5600X’s 65W TDP.
The launch price of the 5600X3D is also much lower than the 5600X ($299). However, the latter was launched way back in 2020 featuring an older Zen3 architecture. We can expect performance reviews to start flooding in over the next few days.
