AMD to launch Radeon RX 7700 XT & 7800 XT at Gamescom on August 25th

Gamescom is one of the biggest world events for computer and video games with a jam-packed schedule filled with cosplay events, esports tournaments, stage shows, panels, and much more. According to rumors, AMD plans to make a major announcement at Gamescom about one of their upcoming processors.

While AMD has confirmed that it will reveal new Radeon products at Gamescom, there are many speculations which suggest that the company will be launching the Radeon RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT graphics cards at the show, which is scheduled on August 25th.

AMD Radeon

A senior executive at AMD, Scott Herkelman, revealed that AMD will be making “major product announcements” at Gamescom. Although the exact products which will be unveiled have not been mentioned, fans already have their guesses as to which Radeon product will take the stage.

Earlier this month, an accidental listing by Powercolor featured the Radeon RX 7800 XT on their official website. Although this was taken down shortly after, many believe that it was for an upcoming announcement. The listing also mentioned specific details such as the design, memory specs, and more.

The RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT GPUs will feature the Navi 32 die, thus bridging the gap between the RX 7600 and RX 7900 series processors. The GPU die is based on RDNA3 architecture and is made using 5nm TSMC node. Its DirectX12 Ultimate support ensures the best performance for highly-demanding video games.

AMD has not confirmed whether it will indeed be launching the Radeon RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT cards on August 25th. It is foolish to wait for any further comment on this speculation given that the event is so close. Looks like we will find out at Gamescom itself!
