The Elder Scrolls: Castles is the latest mobile game by Bethesda

The Elder Scrolls franchise by Bethesda is an award-winning series filled with action and adventure. The last entry The Elder Scrolls: Blades was launched back in 2019 and it managed to garner a mediocre response. Luckily, there’s some good news in store for The Elder Scrolls fans!

Bethesda just dropped The Elder Scrolls: Castles for android-based mobile devices. The game is free to download on Google Play and is currently listed as early access. The developers are yet to release a complete list of supported devices.

According to the Google Play listing, The Elder Scrolls: Castles is “a new mobile game that puts you in control of your very own castle and dynasty. Oversee your subjects as the years come and go, families grow, and new rulers take the throne.” As of now, the early access version is only available for some selected devices in the U.S. and a few other countries.

Fans pointed out the similarities between The Elder Scrolls: Castles and Fallout Shelter. Players can build their own dynasty, build, expand, and upgrade their titular castles. However, Fallout Shelters was launched for iOS devices first. Sadly, there’s no mention of when The Elder Scrolls: Castles will be available on the App Store.

Fallout Shelter was eventually released for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch after its popularity arose. We can expect a similar timeline for The Elder Scrolls: Castles only if the game racks up good numbers.

The Elder Scrolls: Castles seems like a light-hearted, fun game to enjoy. There’s no telling when the game might go live worldwide. The Elder Scrolls: Blades spent 14 months in early access. Additionally, The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t be coming out before 2026. So, it looks like we might be in for a long ride.
