Next update will disable Chromatic Aberration in Ubisoft’s AC Mirage

There has been a lot of debate regarding the chromatic aberration in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Shortly after the game was launched, complaints started pouring in from disappointed fans who were apprehensive of this design choice. The backlash got so heated that Ubisoft had to act on it.

According to a community member on the official Assassin’s Creed Discord server, the chromatic aberration in Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be deactivated by default in the upcoming update, which is set to go live by the end of the month.

For those who don’t know, chromatic aberration is a physical phenomenon which causes distinct color distortion. Although it is undesirable in real-life photography, many AAA titles, which are graphically advanced, continue to use this effect to their benefit.

The one major complaint players had with the chromatic aberration and motion blur setting was the inability to turn it off. There might be some who think these graphical settings add to the beauty of AC Mirage, but it is clear what the community unanimously wants. Moreover, the freedom to customize adds a personalized touch to the game.

Typically, such updates are exclusive to PC titles only, but Ubisoft has confirmed that it will be available for all platforms. You can expect chromatic aberration to be disabled by default in the iOS version of AC Mirage as well.

If you are one of the few who liked the in-game chromatic aberration feature in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you might have to readjust the settings after the next patch update. However, it looks like the majority of players will be rejoicing in favor of this change and rightfully so!
